What is included with the cost?

Our price includes the classroom sessions, online course code, pool dives, and your open water dives at Lake Murray for the open water diver course. The open water diver course fee also includes the rental of the BCD, tanks, weights, wetsuit, regulator system, dive computer, air fills, and certification card!

Do I need my own Scuba gear?

You will need to provide your own mask, fins, snorkel, and dive boots. If you opt to train in South Carolina during the winter, you will need to own a diving neoprene hood and gloves. This is considered personal gear that every student should own for and hygienic purposes and proper fit. All scuba gear should be fitted to you by a professional. All other life support gear (bcd, regs, tanks, wetsuit, computer, weights) will be provided during.

What is the course like?

In the course you will complete classroom sessions, homework with written test, pool session, and 4 open water dives minimum. The amount of training sessions required will depend on your comfort level. We work with everyone at their own pace to ensure they receive quality training and understand what they are doing.

Is my certification recognized world-wide?

Yes. We certify through Scuba Diving International and Technical Diving International, which is accredited by the WRSTC. Does the scuba certification Expire?

Your certification last for a lifetime. However, it is highly recommended that you take a refresher course if are inactive for longer than 6 months.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Yes. There is a swim test that you must past in order to receive certification. The swim test is 200 meters and there is no time limit. You must also tread water/float for 10 mins.

Where do you complete the training dives?

We train often in Lake Murray. We also have many other local dive sites that we can use. Some of those sites include Clarks hill, Jocassee, and in the winter we use Keowee and the Florida Springs!

Where do you complete the pool session?

Generally, the pool sessions are completed at Top Spin Plaza in Lexington, SC.

Should I buy my gear online?

We ask that you come to the classroom session first before making any scuba related purchases. During the classroom session we will discuss various types of diving equipment (mask, fins, bcds, regs, computers, etc). This way you can make an educated decision about the style of gear you want. We sell dive gear and have competitive pricing. Plus, we offer professional fitting and gear consulting and no additional cost to you.
